This campsite offers a convenient stopover en route to Spain, with easy access to the Canal du Midi and the charming town of Colombiers, where shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Guests can enjoy scenic bike rides along the canal towards Béziers or Capestang. The reception staff are friendly and communicate well in English, making check-in smooth and welcoming. Pitches are large and spacious, providing ample room for motorhomes and caravans. However, the site suffers from constant train noise, with trains passing every 20 minutes from early morning until late evening, which significantly disrupts sleep. Sanitary facilities are outdated and inconsistently maintained, with reports of lukewarm water and limited availability during the off-season, when only a few winter toilets and showers are open. The reception has irregular hours, including being closed entirely on Sundays, forcing late arrivals to self-select pitches without guidance. Access to the campsite is problematic due to narrow streets in Colombiers and a newly narrowed bridge that forces dangerous reversing and turning maneuvers on a busy road. The ground becomes very muddy when wet, leaving puddles and potholes with no mats provided. Washing-up facilities are hot but primitive and outdated. The nearby railway shunting yard creates constant noise disturbance. Many facilities are closed during the off-season, diminishing the overall experience. While the location along the Canal du Midi is appealing for walks and cycling, the combination of noise, facility issues, and difficult access leads many guests to decide not to return. The campsite is best suited as a brief stopover rather than a longer stay.
