This campsite enjoys a prime location on the banks of the River Thouet, within walking distance of the stunning Château de Montreuil-Bellay and the charming town center with shops, bakeries, and supermarkets. The site is beautifully landscaped with generous, well-shaded pitches bordered by shrubs and trees, offering a tranquil riverside setting. Guests consistently praise the exceptionally friendly, helpful, and multilingual staff who go out of their way to assist. The toilet and shower blocks are modern, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained, with hot water and toilet paper provided. A heated swimming pool is a highlight, along with a bar and snack bar offering pizzas and burgers, though some note the restaurant is limited. On-site amenities include laundry facilities, a playground, football area, bike and go-kart rental, and a small shop. The site is family-friendly with a kids' club and evening entertainment, though some guests find the noise from children and activities intrusive during peak season. The biggest drawback is persistent road noise from a nearby road, which can be heard throughout the site. Some pitches are small and uneven, and the pool can get crowded. A few guests reported issues with cleanliness of the older shower block and lack of plugs for sinks. Overall, the campsite is ideal for exploring the region, with easy access to the chateau, river walks, and nearby attractions like Saumur and Bioparc. It is particularly recommended for families and those seeking a convenient base, but light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.
