This campsite is a peaceful French family retreat that primarily attracts French guests, creating a quiet and cozy atmosphere. Nestled behind a residential area, its entrance may cause initial confusion, but inside it reveals a pleasantly green and wooded retreat far removed from the neighborhood surroundings. The site is exceptionally well-maintained, with sanitary facilities that stand out as among the cleanest encountered on any trip. Guests enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and consistently praise the smiling, attentive, and courteous staff who go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay. The team contributes significantly to the overall experience, creating a friendly environment where travelers feel well cared for. Communication can be a challenge if you don't speak French, as the helpful reception lady spoke only French, requiring some gesturing and patience. Pitch sizes vary considerably, so you may want to confirm your space when booking. If you seek shade, you must specifically request it; otherwise, you risk ending up in full sun. The toilet facilities are only moderately clean, and toilet paper often runs out, which can be a minor frustration. Waste disposal facilities outside the campsite are frequently overflowing, though this remains a relatively small issue. WiFi near the reception area is very poor, so don't depend on a reliable connection during your stay. The beach is just a five-minute walk from the campsite, but swimming is only feasible at high tide because a large row of rocks blocks easy access at low tide. For a more pleasant swimming experience, a short drive to Carteret reveals a beautiful sandy beach. The surrounding area offers decent cycling routes for outdoor enthusiasts. Overall, this campsite rewards those who venture past the unassuming entrance with a lovely, well-managed operation where guest comfort and enjoyment are clear priorities.
