This campsite, located a scenic 30-minute walk from the charming town of Collioure, offers a convenient base for exploring the area on foot or by bike. Despite its enviable proximity to the beach and town, the site has garnered overwhelmingly negative feedback across multiple years. The access road is consistently described as steep, narrow, potholed, and barely wide enough for one vehicle, often requiring trailer unhitching and making arrival a significant challenge. Pitches are universally criticized for being very small, tight, and placed extremely close together, offering little privacy and making maneuvering large rigs difficult. The sanitary facilities are repeatedly condemned as filthy and poorly maintained, with broken seats, no toilet paper, dirty washbasins, and outdated fixtures. Showers frequently have missing fixtures or lukewarm water, and on busy days only half may be open. Staff reception is noted as often rude and unhelpful, with reports of unfriendly welcomes, especially for late arrivals, and confrontational behavior regarding refunds. A major drawback is the constant noise from a railway line running directly overhead, which severely impacts peace. Electric hookups have also been reported as problematic. While the family-run atmosphere can be warm for some, the overwhelming sentiment is one of disappointment, with guests strongly advising against staying due to neglected hygiene, cramped conditions, and poor infrastructure. The site is only tolerable for a very short stopover, and many find it fails to meet even basic standards, let alone its advertised four-star rating.
