Nestled in the heart of Périgord Noir, this family-run campsite is a serene woodland retreat praised for its extraordinary peace and quiet. Guests consistently applaud the warm, attentive welcome from the owners and staff, who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The site is exceptionally clean, with sanitary facilities cleaned multiple times daily. Spacious, shaded pitches offer good privacy, often separated by hedges. The heated swimming pool is a highlight, well-maintained and rarely overcrowded, with sun loungers and a pleasant setting. Children are exceptionally well catered for with a large playground, trampolines, bouncy castles, mini-golf, petanque, sports courts, and free activities. The on-site restaurant serves delicious local cuisine, particularly the Périgord-themed evening meals, and the bar offers a convivial atmosphere. A small shop stocks fresh bread and essentials each morning, though some guests wish it were larger. The campsite is ideally located for exploring Sarlat, caves, castles, and the Tamnies lake with its supervised beach. Free WiFi is available but can be slow or patchy in places, and mobile signal is often weak in the surrounding valley. Live music on Thursday evenings adds to the natural charm. Some guests note that the entrance road can be tricky for low cars and that hot water in showers is not always adjustable. Pool opening hours and occasional crowding during peak season are minor quibbles. The human scale of the campsite ensures a calm, high-quality experience. Many families return year after year, drawn by the tranquil atmosphere, genuine hospitality, and child-friendly amenities.
