This campsite is very conveniently located close to a pleasant small town and the WWI battlefields, making it a practical base for sightseeing or as a stopover to the Eurotunnel for a cheap price. The site has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a quick overnight stop, with spacious pitches. The local restaurant serves excellent food, and the Wi-Fi connection is a positive. However, the condition of the facilities is overwhelmingly poor. The shower and toilet blocks are outdated, dirty, with black mould, broken tiles, cobwebs, sewage smells, and unhygienic conditions; non-working toilets and broken seats are common. Pitches are often waterlogged, muddy, unleveled, cramped, and not numbered, with broken drain covers posing hazards; some are much smaller than advertised. Electric hookups are in short supply and may be unavailable even if booked, forcing campers to share extension cords. Reception hours are very limited, often opening only late in the afternoon or evening, causing confusion. Guests have reported that staff placed additional campers on their pitch without asking. The site appears to be transitioning to chalets and mobile homes, shifting away from traditional camping. The so-called playground has only a few plastic toys, and the snack bar or shop was reported closed. No staff member was present on arrival for late check-in, and the phone contact did not speak English despite claims. Guests felt unsafe due to men loitering outside wash facilities at all hours, and nighttime noise comes from nearby permanent residents. Photos on booking sites are misleading, as the reality is far worse. The campsite is considered overpriced for the poor facilities, though passable for a short stay.
