This campsite enjoys an excellent location just outside La Rochelle, with a large shopping center, supermarket, and bakery within easy walking distance. A convenient bus stop provides frequent and inexpensive service to the city center, and dedicated cycle paths make biking to La Rochelle and the Île de Ré a breeze. The on-site restaurant earns consistent praise for its good food, generous portions, and excellent value, and the swimming pool—though smaller than promotional photos suggest for some—is a lovely highlight with separate shallow and deep areas. Guests consistently highlight the friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff who contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. The pitches are often described as large, spacious, and well-shaded, with water and electric hookups conveniently close, though some pitches in earlier seasons were reported as worn, muddy, or cramped near mobile homes. Despite a commercial and roadside setting, the campsite is noted to be quiet at night by many, but road noise can be audible in certain areas, and occasional late-night parties disturb the peace. The sanitary facilities receive mixed reviews; while many appreciate hot water and find them clean, others report dated blocks, occasional dirtiness, queues, and frustrating coded locks that are troublesome or broken. A sewage smell was noted in one shower block. Wi-Fi is not included and is considered expensive, with poor reception in free areas. The laundry area can be crowded. Some guests report a lack of water taps near pitches, with only warm water from the toilet block. For motorhome users, there is no facility for dumping grey water, and recycling facilities outside the campsite are poor. A few incidents include theft of an electric hook-up cable and unhelpful staff response. The site is well-maintained overall but suffers from substandard sanitation that detracts from an otherwise convenient and friendly stay.
