This family-run campsite near the Basque coast is a rare find in France, open all year and perfectly suited for short stopovers or longer stays, especially for travelers heading to Spain and Portugal. The spacious, level pitches with individual water taps and grey-water disposal accommodate large motorhomes and caravans easily. Staff consistently earn high praise for their warm, attentive, and multilingual hospitality, often guiding guests to their pitches and caring for those with reduced mobility. Cleanliness of the sanitary blocks receives mixed feedback: many find them clean and practical with warm water, though some note aging facilities, limited lighting on the north side at night, and a recent removal of soap dispensers and toilet paper. The on-site restaurant serves excellent Basque cuisine, but it may be closed midweek or in low season, so advance checks are wise. A bread and pastry order service is available each morning. The property features a pleasant lake where guests enjoy walking, fishing, swimming, and pedal boats, adding a scenic touch. Families appreciate the excellent children's activities, while cyclists can easily ride to Saint-Jean-de-Luz and other coastal spots. A large supermarket and fuel station are just a five-minute bike ride away. The swimming pool and sports facilities are well-kept, though the pool was under construction during some visits. Wi-Fi is a paid extra and often described as poor, with refunds offered in some cases. Noise can be a drawback: nearby agriculture and road traffic create constant sounds from early morning until late evening, and occasional manure odors may occur. However, many guests find the overall ambiance calm and relaxing, especially during quieter periods. The campsite does not feature mobile homes, preserving a traditional camping atmosphere. While limited hiking opportunities directly from the site require a car, the location remains an ideal base for exploring the ocean, mountains, and town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
