Camping la Vallée de l'Indre
This campsite on the banks of the River Indre in Montbazon offers a picturesque, park-like setting ideal for exploring the Loire Valley. Over the years, it has consistently been praised for its friendly, helpful staff and excellent hospitality, especially under new ownership since 2019. The site features spacious, level pitches, many shaded and with privacy from hedges, perfect for both short stopovers and longer stays. Its convenient location near major roads makes it a popular stop for travelers, while also serving as a strategic base for visiting Tours and numerous Loire Valley châteaux. Guests enjoy direct river access for swimming and paddling, as well as a grassy beach with loungers. On-site amenities include a heated swimming pool, a children's splash park, a playground, and a small animal enclosure. A riverside restaurant and snack bar serve burgers, pizzas, and salads, often with live music, and bread and pastries are delivered each morning. A patisserie and a large supermarket are within a five-minute walk, though the on-site shop is limited. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean, with private washing cubicles and laundry available; some visitors note occasional issues with drainage or lukewarm showers. Free Wi-Fi is generally good but can be patchy on some pitches. The site maintains a quiet period from 11 pm to 8 am, though some noise may come from a nearby road or evening entertainment. Mosquitoes can be a nuisance due to the river location, and electric hookups may require a long cable. The medieval fortress of Montbazon is within walking distance, adding cultural appeal. Overall, this campsite offers a peaceful, well-maintained environment with excellent service and great value, making it a highly recommended stop for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
