This campsite enjoys a prime location directly on the banks of the Dordogne River, just a short 15- to 20-minute walk from the charming old town of Bergerac. The setting is genuinely picturesque, with spacious pitches shaded by old plane trees and easy access to the scenic greenway V91 for cycling. Despite its attractive position, the campsite presents a mixed experience that varies greatly by season and year. Staff are consistently described as friendly and welcoming, which adds a positive touch to the stay. The site offers good value for money, particularly with the ACSI card, and serves as a convenient stop for travelers exploring the region. However, the facilities are a major letdown, frequently described as outdated, neglected, and often dirty. The sanitary block is notably old, with reports of broken flooring, poor accessibility due to stairs, and regular issues with cleanliness. Showers have been reported with cold water on occasion, and the washing-up area lacks warm water and waste bins. The pitches, while mostly shaded, are not well marked out and can become very muddy in rainy weather, making it challenging to navigate or leave. Noise disturbances from long-stay residents have been noted, and there is a lack of oversight from management. Reception closes for a long lunch break from midday until mid-afternoon. At the end of the season, maintenance appears to be abandoned, with water turned off and showers not working. Guests with mobility issues should be cautious due to the uneven terrain and steps. Despite the low price and pleasant location, the poor state of the sanitation and inconsistent upkeep make it hard to recommend for those seeking comfort. It remains a basic, no-frills municipal campground that may suit budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over amenities.
