This campsite offers a deeply mixed experience that has evolved significantly over the years, with some aspects praised and others heavily criticized. The natural setting is consistently described as calm and beautiful, providing an excellent backdrop for relaxation in tents or mobile homes. The owners and staff receive high marks for being exceptionally warm, helpful, and family-oriented, often going above and beyond for guests, such as lending equipment during rainy weather. The pitches are widely praised for their spaciousness, accommodating large motorhomes and trailers up to 8.6 meters, and the lower and upper terraces offer lovely views. The on-site restaurant is noted for its quality and occasional live music, though some report it is now permanently closed. Free WiFi is reliable enough for streaming, and water, grey water disposal, and waste disposal are provided at no charge. However, serious concerns plague the billing process, with multiple instances of guests being charged twice due to reception errors; the management refuses to investigate or refund, citing it as a bank issue. Sanitary facilities receive mixed reviews: some find them clean, while others describe dirty showers, washbasins, and hair left in showers both morning and evening, with outdated blocks that are insufficient for the number of pitches. The site has deteriorated in recent years, with maintenance appearing neglected, and many advertised amenities like the swimming pool, pizzeria, and bread service are permanently closed, though small print on the website indicates this. Noise levels vary dramatically, from very quiet in some years to disturbances from roaming chickens, early-morning cockerels, vehicles, and unruly children and dogs in others. Privacy is enhanced by hedges on some pitches, but the combination of touring and static caravans can lead to busy, quickly soiled shared unisex facilities. Exposure to wind is a notable drawback, making the site unpleasant during windy conditions, so choosing a sheltered pitch away from static areas is recommended. Despite these issues, the campsite is considered safe, with opportunities for evening runs on nearby off-road paths, and dogs are welcome and seem to enjoy their stay. Guests return annually and introduce new visitors, drawn by the exceptional owners and spacious pitches, but must be vigilant about billing and sanitary conditions, especially during peak times.
