Guests consistently praise the excellent facilities and the superb, family-run atmosphere that makes stays feel warm and welcoming. The surrounding environment is quiet, rich in natural beauty, and ideal for cycling tours, with harvested cherry trees adding a charming touch. However, practicality comes with caveats: there is no waste disposal point for campervans, requiring longer-staying travelers to manually empty waste using buckets—a significant inconvenience. Off-season visitors face limited facilities, with only one washroom block open, where women must pass a urinal area to reach toilet cubicles, a notable design flaw. Showers are accessed barefoot or with provided flip-flops, raising hygienic concerns about standing on cold tiles used by previous guests. Motion-sensor lighting in showers cuts out too quickly, leaving bathers in darkness, while sinks lack hooks or shelves for personal items. Morning washrooms are cluttered with dead insects attracted by lights overnight, a problem easily mitigated by closing the door after dark. Toilets have no hooks, shelves, or toilet paper, and cleanliness is only borderline acceptable. The pristine swimming pool regrettably offers no chairs or loungers for relaxation. Despite these shortcomings, the family-run atmosphere is genuinely warm and welcoming, making a return visit likely in hopes that some criticisms are addressed.
