This campsite delivers a wonderfully peaceful seaside escape, praised year after year for its warm, multilingual staff who make every guest feel welcome from check-in. The spacious pitches—some exceptionally large—allow you to choose your own spot, offering plenty of room for relaxation. While the sanitary facilities are a bit dated, they remain generally clean with good hot showers, though one toilet block lacks a chemical dump station and distances between amenities can mean a bit of walking. The real draw is the location: the beach lies just a short crossing and a few steps away, perfect for shore fishing, coastal walks, and cycling. Surrounding salt marshes, oyster shacks, and eateries invite exploration, and a supermarket is only 1.7 km away. The historic Remparts de Brouage is a pleasant half-hour bike ride, and Île d'Oléron is a 20-minute drive—making this an ideal base for regional excursions. An evening food truck serves delicious fresh pizzas, and a baker arrives each morning with fresh bread and pastries. Guests should come prepared for mosquitoes, but minor drawbacks don't overshadow the site's well-maintained charm and strong appeal for return visits. The campsite combines convenience, friendliness, and natural beauty into a delightful coastal retreat.
