Nestled at the foot of Alpe d'Huez, this campsite offers a peaceful and scenic mountain setting ideal for cyclists and hikers. It features easy access to cycling paths along the river and nearby routes, with the lively village of Bourg d'Oisans a short bike ride away. A large supermarket is about 1.5 km from the site. The staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, providing ample local information. The campsite is clean and well-maintained, with spacious pitches that provide good privacy and shade. While the restaurant and bakery service were closed during the COVID period, food was available at a neighboring campsite. Out of season, the reception staff may seem unenthusiastic, but the shower and toilet facilities are excellent, though some may be closed during off-peak times. The swimming pool and sports facilities were under renovation during one visit, but the personnel remain super friendly. The campsite is basic with slightly outdated but clean sanitary facilities. A minor drawback is noise from a nearby waterfall, which becomes tolerable over time. Rental houses are dated but functional for sleeping and showering. Long-time visitors return annually, describing the setting as a fairy tale and a piece of paradise on earth, with all amenities within 1 km. Nearby attractions include Le Grave village, where a cable car ascends to the glacier La Meije for fantastic views.
