Under new French ownership since 2021, this campsite in the Dordogne has been transformed into a warm and welcoming retreat. The owners personally guide guests to their spacious pitches with friendly assistance, often accompanied by their golden retriever Nacho. The site is set in a peaceful wooded environment, offering both sunny and shady spots that provide welcome relief in hot weather. Pitches are large and private, ensuring a sense of seclusion for nature lovers and families. The owners organize children's activities and host fixed-menu evenings several times a week, featuring burger and pizza nights. A local brewery's beer is on tap, alongside a variety of bottled options. Snacks are available on other days for casual dining. The sanitary facilities are centrally located in a large building and are generally kept clean, though many shower and toilet doors do not close properly, requiring improvisation. A small additional building with two toilets serves the far side of the grounds. The campsite is highly dog-friendly, and the owners' dog warmly greeted a visitor's puppy. Despite minor maintenance issues, guests are very satisfied with the overall experience and advise ignoring older negative reviews. A nearby lake adds to the appeal, making it ideal for families with young children. The site is safe and easy to navigate, allowing children to play freely. Evenings are pleasant on the small terrace, where simple but good meals are served. This lovely, well-managed campsite offers a wonderfully peaceful retreat in a beautiful part of the region.
