Nestled in the magnificent Bauges massif, this campsite offers an idyllic escape for nature lovers, with stunning lakes and mountain landscapes providing a peaceful retreat. The spacious, shaded pitches are highly appreciated, often set amidst greenery and offering a cool retreat even in hot weather. A large nearby lake and leisure base offer excellent opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, water sports, fishing, and inflatable games, with discounted rates for campers. The lakeside location is a highlight, with some pitches offering direct water access and lovely views, though a dedicated swimming beach on the lake is lacking. The on-site bar, run by friendly staff, contributes to a pleasant family ambiance, and occasional evening events like themed dinners and live music add to the social vibe. The region itself is delightful, with local attractions like the Pissieu waterfall, an equestrian center, a treetop adventure park, and charming villages where excellent pizzas can be enjoyed. However, significant and consistent criticisms have been leveled at the cleanliness and maintenance of the sanitary facilities, which are frequently described as dirty, outdated, and understaffed, with too few toilets and showers for the campsite's size. Reception and management receive mixed reviews; while some staff members are notably friendly and helpful, others are described as incompetent, rude, and unresponsive, with numerous reports of extremely long check-in waits, inability to reach the campsite by phone or email, and a failure to honor reserved pitches. This last issue—arriving to find one's reserved pitch given to someone else—is a recurring theme, causing considerable frustration. Noise is another point of contention; although the setting is often serene, some guests complain about loud late-night music from on-site entertainment or neighboring groups, as well as unrestricted vehicle movement due to a broken barrier that also raises security concerns. Practical points to note include limited on-site shop provisions, expensive bread, fixed electricity supply on some pitches with poorly placed terminals, and a lack of services like a snack bar, fridge rental, or organized activities. Despite the beautiful surroundings, fundamental issues with hygiene, booking management, and consistent hospitality mean the experience can be a gamble.
