Camping L'Ecrin Nature, a small and intimate campsite in Ambazac, offers a wonderfully peaceful retreat in a beautiful woodland setting beside a lake. The owners and staff are exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and helpful, going out of their way to make guests feel at home, offering advice on the area, and even delivering fresh pastries directly to the pitch each morning. The pitches are spacious, level, and well-maintained, available in both sunny and shaded options, and provide ample privacy. The sanitary facilities are immaculately clean, being cleaned multiple times a day, and include hot water for dishes, push-button showers, and easy facilities for emptying chemical toilets, fresh water filling, and gray water disposal. The campsite operates a bread delivery service and an on-site restaurant serving tasty hot meals, including a popular fried camembert with tomatoes and green salad, as well as evening pizzas and fries. The restaurant also offers excellent waffles with homemade jam and white wine from the owner's in-laws' estate. The swimming pool is well-maintained and tested daily for cleanliness, though it may not be open during cooler months. A playground for children aged 2 to 12 is available, and the campsite organizes activities such as stargazing with an expert and musical evenings. A lake is located nearby, offering lovely walking routes around the water, and the area is quiet enough to sleep without earplugs. Reliable 4G+ mobile signal and WiFi reach the pitches, and there is a Super U supermarket in town for supplies. The intimate size of the campsite encourages conversation among guests, adding to its warm and authentic atmosphere. Overall, it provides a comfortable, exceptionally clean, and welcoming experience that makes guests want to stay longer.
