This campsite on the Elbe River offers stunning views of mountains and Königstein Fortress, making it a popular base for exploring Saxon Switzerland. Guests enjoy easy access to hiking, cycling, kayaking, and visits to the Bastei rock formation. The site is a 10-minute walk from the S-Bahn station for trains to Dresden and the Czech border. Fresh bread rolls, a small shop with camping supplies, and an outdoor drinks vending machine are available. Restaurants are nearby in the village. Sanitary facilities are clean and use a chip card system (10 euro deposit, 5 euros for shower water, refunded unused). Pets are welcome, and the site is family-friendly. However, the campsite is adjacent to a railway line, creating constant noise that disturbs sleep, especially at night. The pitches are small, best for compact campervans, and the access road is narrow for large caravans. Staff reviews are mixed: some find them helpful, others impersonal and grumpy. In recent years, guests have reported billing disputes, unfair deposit withholding, and additional fees for electricity and showers. WiFi is poor, and restrooms can be cold. Many visitors plan to return for the location, while others swear never to return due to noise and service issues.
