This family-run campsite has earned a loyal following over the years for its welcoming atmosphere and exceptionally friendly owners, who are praised for going above and beyond to find guests a suitable spot, even when the site seems full. The spacious pitches offer pleasant views of surrounding meadows and come with reliable electricity, fresh water, and waste disposal points. Guests consistently highlight the spotless sanitary facilities, which are kept clean and well-maintained, with plenty of hot water for washing up. A daily bread service adds convenience, allowing campers to order fresh breakfast pastries and pastries each morning. The location is ideal for visiting Plopsaland, as it's just a 15-minute walk from the entrance, and the nearby train station and coastal tram stop make exploring the area easy without a car. Beautiful cycling routes along the Belgian coast and through World War I history-rich towns like Veurne and Ieper add to the appeal for active visitors. Families particularly enjoy the peaceful, unpretentious atmosphere, which feels more authentic than larger coastal resorts with swimming pools and children's entertainment. However, some practical issues have been reported, particularly regarding a section of the site called the meadow, where small pitches are demarcated with tape and water comes from a single garden hose. Electricity on the meadow is shared via extension cables on a few fuses, leading to frequent power cuts, and access involves a rutted track separate from the main entrance. An old, dilapidated hotel building on the property is not sufficiently screened off, posing a hazard with broken glass that children might encounter. There have also been complaints about billing discrepancies, including a promised ACSI Book refund that was never delivered. During busy periods, such as Ascension weekend, showers lacked hot water and overall sanitary capacity proved inadequate. The Wi-Fi can be excellent when few guests are using it, but it weakens during peak times, which may be a drawback for those needing reliable connectivity.
