This campsite is set within a park-like landscape with beautiful trees, offering a peaceful atmosphere that appeals to those seeking relaxation. The surrounding Westerwald region provides excellent hiking opportunities. However, the experience here has deteriorated significantly over time. In 2022, the operators were friendly and attentive, but by 2023 the owners became disinterested and the site fell into disrepair. The once-charming setting now suffers from a gloomy vibe and a messy, neglected appearance. Many caravans on site are extremely old and falling apart, contributing to a chaotic, unkempt look. The grounds lack basic upkeep, making the whole area feel unwelcoming. For campers with dogs, the situation is particularly disappointing. Dogs are relegated to a separate, neglected area with poor lighting and overgrown vegetation. They are banned from the lake, park, and beach areas that are otherwise promoted as amenities. Staff can be unwelcoming to dog owners, and the on-site farm shop was closed. This discrimination severely limits the recreational value for dog owners, making the site unsuitable for them. Guests looking for a well-kept or inviting camping experience should temper expectations, as the site shows clear signs of long-term neglect. It may not be suitable for travelers seeking a clean, orderly, or welcoming environment. Overall, this is a place that once had charm but now struggles with maintenance and inclusivity.
