This campsite offers a decidedly mixed experience that has evolved over recent seasons, with some highlights but considerable drawbacks. The on-site restaurant and beer garden are popular and highly regarded, drawing praise for their food and atmosphere, though advance booking is essential due to demand. The staff receive conflicting reports: some visitors find them friendly, while others describe them as unfriendly and unhelpful, particularly when camping needs conflict with bar service. Sanitary facilities are a persistent issue, with non-functional drainage leading to standing dirty water and hair in the washhouse, and showers that lack privacy. Toilets and showers are accessed through the beer garden, which can be awkward for guests. The tent area is a cramped patch of grass near the entrance, offering little privacy or comfort. Families with children face steep pricing, as infants are charged full rates, prompting strong recommendations against bringing kids. Noise from late-night wedding parties disrupts sleep, and a large, wolf-like dog roaming the grounds has frightened some guests. WiFi connectivity is poor, and management is dismissive of complaints. The swimming pool has been removed and replaced with a covered terrace, which misleads those expecting aquatic amenities. Trash disposal is inconvenient, with waste bags left in front of a locked container. Water is not available at pitches, requiring a trip to the main building. Overall, while the dining and beer garden are positives, poor service, high costs for children, and lacking amenities make this a challenging choice for many travelers.
