This campsite, located at the foot of the Simplon Pass in the Wallis region, offers basic, unmarked pitches and is within walking distance of the charming town of Brig. Depending on where you set up, you can choose between the soothing sounds of a nearby stream and waterfall or a quieter spot along the side. The site is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding mountains and for hiking excursions. The outdoor public swimming pool right at the entrance is a standout feature, typical of the high quality in Swiss public baths; there is also a larger thermal bath on the other side of Brig. Sanitary facilities, while a bit dated, are impeccably maintained and clean. Free Wi-Fi is available but only reliable near the reception area. The clientele consists largely of transit guests passing through on their way to Italy. Being next to the Simplon Pass road, the campsite is exposed to traffic noise, often masked by the rushing stream. The pitches themselves are unmarked and offer a modest level of privacy and shade. Overall, this is a straightforward, well-maintained stopover with excellent swimming and a prime walking link to town.
