This campsite on the shores of Lake Como offers direct lake access and a pebble beach, with some pitches featuring lovely lake views. Its location near Menaggio and the lake is its primary draw, but the site overall feels neglected and outdated. Pitches are extremely narrow and cramped, with very little free space, making maneuvering for campervans difficult, especially when neighbors depart. Many long-term pitches appear rundown, and heavy tree coverage provides good shade but makes the site feel dark. The sanitary facilities are a major weak point: old, worn out, dirty, and often lacking hot water despite guests paying extra for hot showers. Showers operate on a coin or token system, adding to frustration. Cleanliness is a recurring issue, with the sanitary blocks cleaned only three times daily at best, and the surrounding area is unkempt with broken fencing. The owner is consistently described as friendly and welcoming, but the value for money is poor due to high costs for basic, low-standard amenities. The bar is closed, there is no snack bar or restaurant, and fresh bread is not available on site, forcing guests to rely on their own supplies. Not all promised discounts (such as ACSI) are honored, diminishing the experience further. The entrance photo may have once been appealing, but the current reality is one of decline, neglect, and a lack of basic maintenance. Visitors who prioritize location and simplicity over modern luxuries may find it a charming base, but overall, many feel disappointed and would not return.
