This large campsite serves as a convenient base for exploring Pisa, Lucca, Florence, and the sea, with a well-stocked shop, a bar and restaurant offering good value meals, and a free shuttle to a beautiful sandy beach. The beach itself is a highlight, though reaching it on foot requires nearly two kilometers of walking, and a clothing-optional section lies further north. Guests appreciate the sunny weather, friendly staff who maintain clean toilets throughout the day, and the spacious tourist pitches that are affordable, especially with discount cards. Cyclists enjoy scenic bike paths and the short ride to the shore, while a nearby supermarket adds practical convenience. However, the campsite is plagued by severe and constant noise from the adjacent SS1 highway, a neighboring venue’s loud entertainment starting at 9 PM, and a youth holiday camp with around-the-clock music and shouting, making quiet rest nearly impossible. The layout feels chaotic, with tents and caravans haphazardly arranged under unsightly green tarpaulins that replace natural greenery, detracting from any park-like ambiance. The ground is dusty, and the sanitary buildings are outdated and neglected, with showers operating on a 50-cent coin system that provides only four minutes of water, which many find restrictive. Water points are scarce, with twenty motorhomes sharing a single tap, and no hot water is available for washing dishes. The swimming pool is very small and often kept uncomfortably cold, and sports facilities have been closed. Access is problematic due to a closed main road, forcing guests onto a narrow, potholed farm track that is badly in need of repair. Guests report constant issues with mosquitoes, spiders, and wasps, leading to numerous bites, and the atmosphere is described as chaotic and poorly supervised, with unsupervised teenagers playing loud music until early morning without staff intervention. Many visitors leave early, unable to tolerate the lack of sleep and management's failure to enforce rules. The value for money is considered acceptable only with discount cards, offsetting some of the drawbacks. Overall, this site offers strong practical amenities and coastal access, but noise, neglect, and poor upkeep create a deeply mixed experience.
