Camping Elbeling is a serene and beautifully maintained campsite set within a spacious park-like landscape, where mature trees offer plenty of natural shade and well-kept grass creates an inviting atmosphere. The sanitary facilities are consistently described as impeccably clean, with accessible options available, though guests are asked to wear clean bath slippers in the shower area—a rule that is not always followed. Showers cost 50 cents for two minutes. The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals, including tasty pizzas and schnitzels, on a lovely terrace, making dining a highlight of the stay. The hosts are exceptionally friendly, helpful, and solution-oriented, often organizing pleasant activities for guests, and the reception staff allow visitors to choose their own pitch. The campsite boasts direct access to the Elbe River, ideal for walking, cycling, and canoeing, with the Elbe cycle path passing directly by. The surrounding area offers stunning routes for cycling and hiking, and birdwatchers can spot white-tailed eagles, cranes, spoonbills, red kites, and black storks. A clean but shallow swimming pool is available. The pitches are spacious and offer a pleasant mix of sun and shade, though tent carpets are not permitted. Safari tents are available for those without their own equipment. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, one guest noted a somewhat brisk demeanor from the restroom attendant, though it did not deter them from returning. Occasional low water levels in the Elbe can limit cycling, and a few guests have experienced early departure due to hay fever. One reported a site booking discrepancy that was still honored. Overall, Camping Elbeling provides an affordable and highly recommended destination for a tranquil and recreational getaway.
