This campsite is a wonderful, peaceful retreat nestled in nature, praised for its serene atmosphere and breathtaking views. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful, with one speaking excellent English. Sanitary facilities are simple but renovated and spotlessly clean, cleaned thoroughly each evening. A bakery van arrives every morning (except Thursday) offering fresh bread and pastries, and a small shop sells delicious local products like homemade jams, mustard, local beers, and wines. The shop is run by a cheerful, enthusiastic owner and his mother, who provide ample information about nearby historical sites, vineyards, and fruit farms. In the nearby village, there is an excellent pizzeria and a superb butcher. Guests choose their own pitch on arrival, offering spacious spots even for larger campers, with large grassy pitches set among mirabelle trees providing ample shade. The self-regulation system based on trust means guests respect each other's space and views. Parts of the site border a dense forest while others offer wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. The area is great for walking, especially with dogs, and the campsite serves as a great base for exploring World War I museums and 19th-century Franco-Prussian War landmarks. Many guests return year after year, cherishing the peace, nature, and friendly atmosphere. The waste disposal for chemical toilets is noted as a downside. The campsite has a spacious area for guests with disabilities. Overall, it offers an idyllic and relaxing ambiance.
