Nestled behind the Wadden Sea dike, this campsite offers an exceptional location within easy walking distance of Harlingen's charming port and historic center, making it an ideal base for exploring the Wadden Islands and embarking on mudflat walks. The setting is wonderfully peaceful, with spacious pitches that provide a sense of privacy and room to relax, though some fields can become muddy after rain. Guests consistently praise the quiet atmosphere and the proximity to the sea, with the beach just a few hundred meters away. The on-site restaurant features a pleasant terrace, and the shop provides basic necessities. Children enjoy the playground equipped with an air cushion, and dogs are welcome nearly everywhere on the grounds. Cycling and walking routes in the surrounding area are a major draw, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activity. However, the campsite suffers from significant inconsistencies in maintenance, particularly in the sanitary facilities, which have been criticized for poor cleaning and upkeep despite daily staff presence. Toilets and showers often fall short of expectations, with guests noting limited cleaning that does not go beyond sweeping and restocking supplies. On the motorhome pitch, additional sanitary blocks would be beneficial. Water connections are not available at individual pitches, which can be inconvenient. Some guests feel the pricing structure includes too many extras—such as charges for dogs, showers, and reservations—leading to a perception of being nickel-and-dimed. Staff are generally friendly and welcoming, but cleanliness and value for money remain recurring concerns.
