This campsite has undergone significant changes over the years, having permanently closed in 2022 after a period of high acclaim. In 2021, it was celebrated as an immaculately maintained, car-free haven with spacious pitches, exceptional cleanliness, and beautifully landscaped grounds. Its prime location right on the Maasplassen lakes made it a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, with excellent cycling and walking routes nearby. Guests consistently praised the incredibly helpful and friendly owners, who contributed to a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Many described it as one of the most charming and well-kept campsites they had ever experienced, with a top-tier rating for peace and quiet. However, by early 2022, the operator confirmed the site had closed permanently, and an email inquiry in June of that year received a response stating it was no longer open for overnight stays. The closure appeared indefinite, with no indication of reopening, rendering the site unviable for camping. Oddly, a 2025 review describes the same location as an adult-only campsite with a different character, situated along a busy road with considerable traffic noise, and when the wind is unfavorable, sound from the A2 highway adds to the disturbance. The facilities are insufficient for the 73 pitches, offering only three showers and three toilets, leading to complaints from guests. One party left five days early, forfeiting their payment without any inquiry from the owner. On a positive note, the pitches are spacious and placed on a gravel base, often at the edges of grassy areas, suitable for caravans or motorhomes. The sanitary facilities are reported to be well-maintained and attractive, and the site is bike-friendly, appealing to cycling enthusiasts. The adult-only policy ensures a quieter, more mature atmosphere free from children. This combination of conflicting reports suggests potential confusion between different campsites or a resurrection of the location under new management, but the 2022 closure remains the most recent authoritative statement.
