Nestled in a peaceful woodland setting beside the vast Lac du Der reservoir, this campsite offers direct access to a sandy beach and a wide array of outdoor pursuits, including a 34km cycling loop, hiking trails, and water sports with boat hire. The site features a well-maintained heated swimming pool with a bar that is described as lovely and rarely overcrowded. Pitches vary in size and surface; many are level and shaded by trees, though some tent pitches are on steep gravel slopes that make pegging difficult, and a few sit on thin grass. Sanitary blocks receive mixed feedback—some guests find them clean and among the best of their trip, while others note ageing facilities, tepid or cold water during peak times, and occasional unpleasant odors. Water points are not available on every pitch, and some visitors had to search for a working refill station. The on-site restaurant and bar serve evening meals and host entertainment, including live music jam sessions, but service can be frustratingly slow and disorganized during busy periods, and breakfasts do not always match what is advertised. Reception staff are generally friendly and flexible, allowing pitch changes if needed, though a few guests experienced an unwelcoming attitude and inflexibility regarding deposits and caravan length. Part of the Flower Campings group, the site retains a rustic, family-run feel, but some areas appear neglected and paths are in poor condition. The playground is small, and table tennis tables are basic. Wi‑Fi quality is low, and mobile signal can be variable. Despite these drawbacks, the tranquil atmosphere, lake proximity, and pleasant pool make it a popular choice for families and couples seeking a relaxing stopover or a base to explore the Champagne region.
