Nestled in the scenic Ardennes, this compact campground offers a charming and intimate escape within walking and cycling distance of La Roche-en-Ardenne. Surrounded by trees, many pitches provide welcome shade, while the nearby Ourthe River tempts anglers with excellent fishing right alongside the site. The sanitary facilities have been completely renovated since 2021 and are kept impeccably clean, with regular upkeep even during high season. A brand-new shop and reception area greet guests with a wonderfully friendly welcome, offering a good selection of beers that can be enjoyed on the large terrace or at your pitch. For children, a wooden climbing castle has been built, and during peak season, live entertainment like singers adds to the festive atmosphere. A strict quiet time from 10:00 PM ensures a peaceful ambience that many appreciate. While there is no full restaurant, you can order from a choice of four pizzas, and a bread service operates with orders placed the day before. Payment by card is accepted, not just cash. However, the site has notable downsides: pitches can be extremely close together with little privacy, often set on uneven ground that turns muddy after rain. Mobile reception is limited, and paid Wi-Fi may not work reliably at the pitch, with refunds reportedly refused. The entrance and exit roads are narrow, rough, and poorly marked, making exiting onto the main road dangerous, especially with a caravan. Staff interactions have varied: some guests report a wonderfully friendly welcome, while others describe staff as unfriendly. Sanitary facilities are minimal, with only two showers for each gender, and hot water has been inconsistent, including cold showers when prepaid cards run out. Water points are not available directly on the pitch, and the waste disposal area is poorly signposted. Some long-term guests have played excessively loud music without intervention from the owners, disrupting the peace. Dogs are allowed, and the river offers a pleasant natural feature, but the overall experience is often let down by poor maintenance and lack of basic services. Many visitors express they will never return, though others find it a heavenly spot for true campers in good weather.
