This small-scale campsite along the Geul river in South Limburg offers a scenic natural setting and a genuine camping atmosphere mixing tents, caravans, and folding campers. The volunteer-run staff has received high praise in earlier years for their caring, enthusiastic hospitality, particularly from volunteers like Cees and Ria. The site is considered kid-friendly with minimal disturbances, and the sanitary facilities are often described as stunning and well-maintained. The riverside location provides a serene escape and a pleasant blend of diverse camping units. However, more recent reviews indicate significant issues that can detract from the experience. The access road is very narrow, and parking is limited, creating difficulties for arrivals. Pitch sizes are notably too small, especially for motorhomes, with some of the most cramped spaces reported after extensive European touring. A specific policy on the campervan section forbids drivers from leaving the site during their stay, which can feel restrictive and unwelcoming. Some recent staff interactions have been described as inflexible and condescending, contrasting sharply with earlier years' warmth. A persistent source of noise is the near-constant operation of two tractors for grass cutting and caravan moving, which disrupts the area's natural character. While pitches for caravans and tents appear more reasonable and spacious, the overall value for money is now questioned. The combination of tight spots, restrictive vehicle rules, and unfriendly service has led some guests to cut their stays short. Despite these serious drawbacks, the beautiful surroundings and community feel in earlier years still appeal to some visitors seeking a friendly and engaging experience.
