Nestled in a serene, park-like setting, this campsite offers a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking calm. It is conveniently located along the N145, making it a handy stop for those traversing the area. A swimming lake is just a short stroll away, though its availability can be affected by environmental conditions. The town center is within walking distance, but the steep hill on the way there may challenge less active visitors. Despite being the prefecture's location, the town itself offers limited attractions. Access involves a long, narrow approach road with few passing places, adding a hint of adventure. The midday closure until 3 PM can mean a wait at the barrier, especially for those arriving with a trailer. The washroom facilities are mostly open, leading to chilly showers in cooler months, though a small heated toilet block is available but not well-signposted. Bread service is offered but not until 9 AM, which is inconvenient for early risers. The nearby Étang de Courtille lake was drained for major works in 2025, eliminating water activities that season. The site is spacious and notably quiet, yet suffers from a lack of maintenance and investment. Sanitary facilities have been reported as extremely dirty and rarely cleaned, given the low occupancy. Some returning guests now plan to avoid the site altogether due to declining standards. Overall, it remains a tranquil base for a quiet escape, but comfort and upkeep have become serious concerns.
