Camping Clara is a family-run campsite on the Costa Dorada that impresses with its welcoming, homey feel and outstanding service. The brother-and-sister team and their staff are exceptionally friendly, often greeting guests in their own language and personally guiding them to their pitch. The sanitary facilities are consistently described as modern, spotless, and well-maintained, with a child-friendly bathroom and washroom. The on-site restaurant serves delicious homemade paella and other tasty dishes at good value, making it a highlight for many visitors. A small shop offers fresh bread in the morning, though not before 8:30 am. The campsite sits right next to a beautiful sandy beach, accessible via a secure gated entrance and a short underpass under the railway line. The beach access also includes a wooden boardwalk, though some guests find the tunnel unattractive and poorly lit. The pitches are well-equipped, with shade from trees and water, grey water drainage, and electricity directly on the pitch—a convenient setup. However, pitch sizes can be small, feeling cramped for larger caravans. The location is an excellent base for exploring Tarragona and nearby coastal towns like Torredembarra and Altafulla, with a cycle track and bus stop nearby. A Lidl supermarket is just a short walk away for supplies. Noise from the passing train line is frequent during the day but stops overnight, and some pitches near the busy road also experience traffic noise. The campsite is popular with Dutch guests, creating a sociable but sometimes crowded atmosphere. The overall ambiance is quiet and pleasant, with consistently friendly management that leaves a lasting positive impression.
