This hillside campsite near Zumaia offers dramatic views of green hills and a river, but its steep terrain requires good mobility and strong legs. Access is via a very steep, narrow entrance road that can be difficult to navigate, especially with large vehicles. Pitches are generally level but vary widely in size; many are described as small, narrow, or cramped, with some offering limited privacy due to close proximity to neighbors. The terrain is terraced, and a few pitches may combine gravel with muddy grass. Onsite facilities consistently earn praise for their cleanliness, including well-maintained showers and toilets. The shower system occasionally has quirks, such as lights that time out in darkness. A small shop stocks essentials and offers freshly baked croissants and baguettes each morning. The restaurant receives excellent reviews for food quality when open, though it may close in October evenings or be unavailable low-season. While WiFi is very fast in some areas, it does not reliably reach caravans or touring pitches. The outdoor pool is a highlight but typically closes in mid-September, and opening hours may be limited (e.g., not until 4 p.m.). The site is a pleasant 10–15 minute walk along the river into Zumaia's lively town center, with its two surf beaches, and is also close to the train and bus stations for easy access to San Sebastián and Bilbao. Staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and efficient, and one guest reported receiving an unexpected refund. The campsite is family-friendly with a playground that children enjoy, though the surf beaches are more suited to experienced swimmers. Overall, it is a clean and well-run site where the main trade-offs are the steep terrain, variable pitch privacy, and limited WiFi in certain sections.
