Camping Bocca di Cecina in Tuscany is a family-run campsite set in a spacious pine forest with direct access to a sandy beach, making it an excellent base for exploring the region. The location is a highlight, with some pitches just a short walk from the sea and close to the town of Cecina. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming, with multilingual abilities easing check-in even for late arrivals. The on-site restaurant and pizzeria serve excellent local cuisine, including fresh seafood and pizza, at reasonable prices. A well-stocked market provides fresh local products, and the bar offers fresh croissants in the morning. The swimming pool is well-maintained, though it requires a swim cap and can feel small during peak times. The site is very dog-friendly, with a dedicated beach area for dogs, though dogs are not accepted in July and August. Pitches are spacious and many are shaded by old pine trees, with some offering private pergolas for extra comfort. The older section under the pines provides good privacy with hedges or trees between pitches. Evening entertainment includes live shows and a disco, but nighttime noise from music can continue until midnight, and quiet hours are not always enforced. The access road is narrow and bumpy for larger vehicles, and wild boars roaming after dark may unsettle some guests. Sanitary facilities are dated and sometimes lack adequate warm water for showers and dishwashing, though cleaning efforts are praised. Wi-Fi signal is weak in some areas, and mobile signal is average. The free shuttle helps navigate the large grounds, but walking distances can be significant. A required plastic wristband for access is inconvenient. Despite minor drawbacks, many guests return year after year, citing good value and a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. Overall, the combination of a stunning seaside location, extensive amenities, and friendly service makes this a pleasant choice for a Tuscan coastal holiday.
