The atmosphere is particularly popular with Dutch families and works well for younger children up to about ten years old. Facilities are on the basic side but generally kept tidy, although the sanitary blocks can feel cramped and are not refreshed as often as one might hope. The access road is narrow and can be a white-knuckle experience for larger caravans or when meeting farm traffic. A decent swimming pool offers a refreshing dip, and the early-morning baker visit is a charming touch. Wi-Fi is frustratingly weak, only really working near the reception area. The surrounding landscape is fantastic for walking, though the steep hillside means you will need a car to reach most trailheads. The steep terrain also makes moving around the site itself a bit of a workout, which could be tricky for those with mobility issues or very young children. Food and drink options are limited, with a sparse cake selection and hot meals that fail to impress. The lower sanitary facilities are kept clean, but there are simply not enough toilets to go around. Sports facilities are available but did not stand out during visits. The campsite’s location rewards those who value tranquil scenery and genuine hospitality over modern conveniences.
