Camping Berceo is a highly regarded campsite in the heart of La Rioja, surrounded by lush pastures, hills, and snowy mountains. The site offers spacious, grassy pitches that provide plenty of room for large motorhomes and caravans, with good privacy thanks to hedges and shady trees. It is consistently praised for its cleanliness, with modern and spotless toilet and shower blocks. The staff are frequently noted for being friendly, helpful, and welcoming, with some speaking excellent English. The on-site restaurant serves delicious Spanish food and is popular with locals, though opening hours can be limited. The bar has a great ambiance and is also frequented by locals. The swimming pool is a standout feature, described as huge, fabulous, and spectacular, though it may be cold and only open from late June. The site is quiet and peaceful, especially at night, with only occasional mentions of late-night music. It is conveniently located for visiting the Rioja wine region, monasteries like Yuso and Suso, and the nearby cathedral. There are lovely walks and cycling routes in the surrounding countryside. Sports facilities include table tennis, football, volleyball, and a playground, making it suitable for families. The shop is basic but useful for small supplies. WiFi is available and works well. Access can be tricky for larger units, especially in darkness, and a motor mover is recommended. Some guests noted flies during the day and ants on pitches. The site has many long-term static caravans, which can make it feel busy, but overall it offers excellent value for money and a memorable experience.
