This family-run campsite is set in a beautiful rural location on the edge of the historic fortified village of Navarrenx, just 200 meters from the town center with shops, bakeries, restaurants, and a supermarket within easy walking distance. The site offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, ideal for relaxation, yet it provides an excellent base for exploring the Pyrenees, Atlantic coast, and charming local villages. The owners and staff, particularly Stéphane and Clara, are consistently praised as exceptionally warm, welcoming, and helpful, going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay and offering great local advice. Pitches are spacious, well-shaded by magnificent old trees, and offer good privacy thanks to hedges and thoughtful layout. The swimming pool is a highlight, well-maintained and open from morning to evening, though on busy days sun loungers can be insufficient and some guests note it could be updated. Sanitary facilities are generally very clean and well-kept, but during peak season the number of showers and toilets can be insufficient, leading to queues, and some showers have tepid water or awkward controls. On-site amenities include a bar, a pizza oven operating several days a week serving superb pizzas, a small shop for bread and basics, a laundry with washing machine and dryer, and occasional food trucks or live music. The campsite is particularly family-friendly with a safe environment and pool, dogs are welcome, and the region offers abundant cultural and outdoor activities. Minor drawbacks include limited laundry facilities (only one machine), occasional lack of evening animation, gate closing at 10pm, and no direct river access from the site. Overall, guests consistently express a desire to return, praising the calm, authentic camping experience and the warm, convivial ambiance.
