Nestled in the beautiful Hochschwarzwald region, this family-friendly campsite has consistently impressed visitors with its welcoming atmosphere and exceptionally friendly staff. The team is repeatedly praised for their helpfulness and genuine passion for their work, creating a warm environment from the moment you arrive. Sanitary facilities are a standout feature, consistently described as modern, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained throughout the years. The on-site restaurant initially offered freshly prepared dishes and takeaway options, though recent visits note a decline in quality; however, it remains a recommended option for tasty meals. A small shop supplies fresh bread rolls each morning, a delightful start to the day. The location serves as an excellent base for hiking and cycling adventures, with scenic surroundings and direct access to forest walks for dog owners. The crystal-clear Titisee is just a short stroll away, perfect for a refreshing dip or lakeside relaxation, though access requires going through a neighboring campsite. Pitches are generously sized and beautifully laid out in some years, but recent reports highlight notably small, tightly packed spots that give the site a cluttered, parking-lot feel. Privacy between pitches is minimal, as the layout maximizes the number of caravans and campers per square meter. Electricity is billed separately by kilowatt-hour, a policy many find frustrating and an extra cost on top of already high pitch fees. The site is quiet and peaceful, set in a quieter corner of the lake, making it ideal for relaxation. There is no supermarket within easy walking distance, so guests need a car or trek for supplies. A small playground and pedal karts provide some entertainment for children, though there are limited activities for kids overall. Pets are welcomed, making it a good choice for animal owners. The use of a code to access toilets and showers is seen as a small barrier but does not detract from the otherwise hospitable vibe. Overall, this campsite shines for its pristine sanitary block, scenic lake access, and friendly staff, but cramped pitches and extra electricity costs give a mixed value-for-money impression, making it better suited for short stays or transit.
