This family-run campsite in Arbois, now called 'Au coeur des Vignes', enjoys a prime location within walking distance of the charming wine town. The region offers beautiful hikes and local attractions, making it an excellent base for exploration. The staff consistently earn praise for their warm welcome, helpfulness, and improving management, with reception staff speaking good English. The grounds are well-maintained and heavily shaded by trees, providing peaceful and private pitches. While the overall atmosphere is tranquil, maneuvering caravans onto the spacious pitches can be tricky due to sloping and narrow access lanes. The on-site restaurant offers a nice menu and a large covered terrace, though it may close early in September, limiting dining options. Guests appreciate the free access to the adjacent municipal swimming pool, but it has been closed at times due to technical issues or flood damage. Sanitary facilities are generally clean and well-maintained, but showers can run too hot or have weak water pressure, and some find them in need of modernization. The waste disposal area is kept very clean, and hand-sanitiser stations are placed around the site. However, WiFi only works near reception, and the dry toilets require frequent attention. The wooden barrel accommodation can become extremely hot in summer, and access to the sleeping area is precarious. Despite these drawbacks, the beautiful surroundings and enthusiastic new management earn recommendations, and many guests would stay again for a calm, nature-filled base.
