This campsite sits along the Loire River in the small town of Gennes, offering direct access to scenic cycling and walking routes, including the Vélo cycle path. The pitches are spacious and grassy, with many shaded by trees, and reliably equipped with electricity and regular water points. Sanitary facilities are kept clean but are dated; guests need to bring their own toilet paper in some years, and the accessible toilet doubles as a disabled shower and baby changing area, which can cause waiting. The staff is consistently praised for being friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and a bread service delivers fresh pastries and pizzas on order. A small bar operates most evenings during the season, and a food van visits a few times a week. The town of Gennes is within easy walking distance and has two restaurants, a bar, and a Super U supermarket about a 20-minute walk or five-minute bike ride away. The swimming pool is a standout feature, great for families and kids. The site is dog-friendly thanks to riverside walks. Noise levels vary: daytime traffic on the adjacent bridge is audible but not bothersome, and nights are very quiet in some years, but in others, noise can be an issue. The surrounding region offers numerous castles and attractions, and the campsite is particularly popular among cyclists. Overall, the campsite provides excellent value for money, combining a tranquil setting with thoughtful amenities for a pleasant stay.
