This campsite offers a mixed experience that balances budget-friendly charm with significant drawbacks in its facilities. The staff consistently receive high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness, and warm hospitality, making many guests feel welcome. The pitches are generally appreciated for being large, partly shaded, and offering good privacy, with peaceful natural surroundings that enhance relaxation. The swimming pool, though showing signs of age, remains a usable highlight for many visitors. However, the sanitary blocks are a major source of complaint, frequently described as outdated, dirty, poorly maintained, and insufficient for the number of guests. WiFi coverage is limited to the reception area, and electrical hookups can be unreliable. The campsite's location near a river and muddy coast, rather than a sandy beach, has disappointed some, and the walk to the beach passes through unfinished construction areas. Additional noise may come from a nearby duck farm, and one serious incident involved a staff member's aggressive dog attacking a guest's pet, raising safety concerns. Guests have reported booking problems, including double charges and refund disputes. On the positive side, the affordable rates, bread service, and small snack bar provide good value for money. The site has new owners who have plans for renovation, but as of recent reviews, these improvements have not yet been realized. Overall, the site is coasting on its friendly staff and natural setting, but the poor facilities and safety concerns are significant detractions.
