Set among terraced hillsides with magnificent mountain views, this campsite near the charming town of Navajas offers a peaceful retreat that is especially popular with cyclists and walkers. The nearby Via Verde greenway, a converted railway line, provides a wonderful cycling and hiking route directly accessible from the area, and the surrounding region features a lovely waterfall and scenic small towns. Guests consistently praise the friendly and efficient staff, many of whom speak multiple languages and offer great local advice. The on-site restaurant earns high marks for its varied menu, delicious paella, and extended opening hours, though some find it a bit pricey. The swimming pool is pleasant, though wasps can be bothersome during warmer months, and there have been complaints about the pool appearing neglected in some years. Cleanliness is generally excellent, with immaculate showers and toilets and frequent waste collection. However, the sanitary facilities in some parts need updating, with reports of broken fixtures and slow-to-warm water. Pitches are often small, typically around 60 square meters, and set close together with limited privacy; larger motorhomes may find them snug. The terrain is steep, and accessing the greenway directly from the site can be challenging. Gravel surfaces make pegging tents difficult, and there is little shade on many pitches, though some shaded plots are available. The gate is locked from midnight to 8 a.m., which can inconvenience guests attending evening events nearby. The booking system has caused frustration, with some travelers arriving after confirming a reservation only to be told there was no space. The on-site shop is limited in stock, but a small supermarket and bakery add convenience. Electricity hookups may be insufficient for more than a basic fridge without an extension cord. The campsite is family-friendly with organized activities for kids, though weekends and early June bring more children and activity. Mobile signal and WiFi performance vary; in some years WiFi is excellent, in others it is reported as poor. The value for money is considered strong by many, with a clean environment, helpful staff, and good amenities outweighing the inconveniences for most visitors. The surrounding small Spanish town and beautiful landscape make this a decent stopover or base for touring.
