The location offers easy access to a sandy and gravel beach with a dreamy beach bar and spectacular sunset views. Guests consistently rave about the on-site restaurant's excellent and affordable traditional cuisine. The staff, particularly the owner and family members, are widely commended for their friendliness, creating a welcoming, home-like atmosphere. However, the campsite has experienced notable inconsistencies over the years. While the spacious pitches are prized for privacy and natural shade, the sanitary facilities are a recurring weak point; they are often described as unisex, aging, and lacking basic amenities like toilet paper and hooks. Cleanliness standards have fluctuated, with some years noting excellent upkeep while others report a significant decline in maintenance of pitches, gardens, and sanitary blocks. A persistent pigeon problem has been reported, with noise from early morning disturbing the peace. Value for money has also been questioned, with complaints of unexpected extra charges such as cash-only prices and separate electricity fees added on top of base rates. The atmosphere has shifted over time, from a lively, sociable community to a quieter environment that attracts an older clientele, with some missing the cheerfulness of earlier years. Dogs are generally welcome but leash rules are sometimes ignored, and recent years have seen a decline in the once-acclaimed dog-friendliness due to management policies.
