CampAlta is a small, intimate campsite nestled in the far north of Norway, offering a maximum of 60 pitches on a 1.7-hectare property located just 5 kilometers from the town of Alta. The site is surrounded by pristine nature, with a wild and romantic coastline that invites exploration on foot or by boat. Guests can join guided safari boat trips organized by the camp to discover the stunning coastal scenery. During the summer months, the camp runs a varied daily sports program, while in winter, excursions to a ski area 20 kilometers away are highly recommended. The property features a children's playground and covered cooking facilities, making it suitable for families. Although there is no restaurant or shop on site, Alta's cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores are just a short walk or drive away. The campsite is particularly dog-friendly, with trails and surroundings perfect for walking with pets. Reindeer are known to roam across the grounds daily, creating an impressive and unforgettable wildlife experience. Wi-Fi is available at all pitches, as well as at reception and in the restaurant area. The terrain is gently undulating grassland along a river, bordered by tall birches, with mountain views adding to the scenic setting. The site only offers rental accommodations, with 19 units available—nine with private sanitary facilities and ten without. A chemical toilet disposal point is provided for black water. For swimming, an indoor pool is located 6 kilometers away, and the nearest ski lift is 20 kilometers from the camp. The atmosphere is peaceful and devoid of animation or gimmicks, focusing on nature and relaxation. Guests consistently praise the direct waterfront location and the serene environment. The camp's location near road 93 makes it easily accessible, with signage directing visitors from Alta. Overall, CampAlta provides a tranquil base for both summer and winter adventures in Norway's northern wilderness.
