This campsite in Lommel has seen dramatic swings in quality over recent years, mixing genuine lakeside charm with chronic management failures. The standout asset is the large lake with direct beach access, offering stunning views and peaceful spots for relaxation or dog walks. Families are drawn to the dedicated playgrounds, indoor swimming pool, cycle paths, and children's activities that create an energetic, family-focused atmosphere. However, the experience is consistently undermined by serious noise problems, ranging from deafening live music past midnight to revving V8 engines and tuned scooters driven by long-term campers. Sanitary facilities receive the harshest criticism: toilets are often unusable, cleaned only once daily, or not at all during a six-day stay, with broken taps, overflowing bins, and smelly conditions. Hygiene concerns extend to the grounds, with trash scattered even on playgrounds, and reports of inappropriate behavior in women's toilets and showers. Staff are frequently absent or unresponsive to complaints about noise, hygiene, or disturbances in the pool area, and guests may arrive as late as 11 pm. The on-site restaurant and shop are appreciated when open, though the shop may only operate on weekends, and the snack bar and ice cream parlor have been permanently closed. The indoor pool is sometimes available only three days a week with lukewarm water, while electricity cuts out multiple times daily, and only one washing machine and one dryer function. Value for money is widely questioned, as recent stays feel overpriced given broken facilities and neglected grounds. The site also hosts a large number of long-term campers who seem indifferent to others, contributing to noise and disrepair. Despite the potential for a relaxing lakeside holiday with kids and dogs, the combination of relentless noise, poor cleanliness, and unresponsive management makes it difficult to recommend.
