Ashcroft Farm is a peaceful, idyllic campsite nestled in rolling hills, offering a true retreat from everyday life. The location is quiet and dark, perfect for those seeking tranquility, with beautiful scenery and a well-kept environment. Pitches are generously sized and well-spaced, some on a gentle slope but easily leveled, providing ample room for setup. The starry skies and sounds of owls, horses, and cows at night enhance the serene atmosphere, though occasional RAF jets add a surprising backdrop. Sanitary facilities are consistently described as spotless and spacious, with separate male/female cubicles housed in wooden sheds. Showers provide plenty of hot water, though one guest found the water barely warm late in the evening. A dedicated washing-up station and a utility room with a pay-per-use washing machine and dryer add practical convenience. The friendly, hands-on owner is praised for proactive check-ins and shares lots of local information on the utility room walls. A separate four-acre dog walking field is a highlight, allowing pets to roam freely. A nearby dairy farm offers a 24-hour milk and milkshake vending machine, and the village shop is reasonably priced with a broad selection and a post office. The site is well-positioned near the village, which has a pub, chip shop, and store, though amenities require a short drive. Guests feel safe even when camping solo, and children enjoy playing barefoot on the soft grass in the central field. The approach roads are narrow and rural, which some guests noted. Overall, Ashcroft Farm is ideal for a quiet, relaxing getaway with excellent facilities.
