Nestled in the Bernese Oberland just 700 meters from the village and one kilometer from the cable car, this small but meticulously maintained campsite makes an ideal base for hiking and winter sports. Built in 2007, the facility feels modern and well-kept, with sanitary facilities that guests consistently describe as top-notch and spotless. The owners and their family are friendly, helpful, and deeply dedicated to the site, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. A guest card grants free travel on local trains, buses, and the nearby Meiringen cable car, adding great value. However, the daily visitor's tax of €4.00 per person is noted as high, and a daily ACSI discount rate of €22.00 applies. One notable quirk is the noise from Swiss military jets flying low several times a day, which guests must get used to. The sublime mountain views and proximity to charming Meiringen make exploring on foot effortless. About half of the pitches are occupied by seasonal guests, while the other half welcome short-term campers and motorhomes. Pitches are not particularly spacious, which may be a consideration for those needing extra room. Despite this, many guests find they don't need a car for half their holiday. The campground offers a cozy, intimate atmosphere that encourages return visits. The combination of excellent facilities and stunning natural scenery makes it a standout choice for short to medium stays. Overall, it is a peaceful and welcoming retreat that leaves a lasting impression.
