This campsite offers a mix of convenient features and notable drawbacks that vary significantly from year to year. The grounds are generally kept very clean, and the site is well-maintained, making it a pleasant base for exploring Mount Etna or taking boat trips. Bicycle paths along the coast provide a nice way to get around, and the location close to the beach is a strong point. However, the site is directly beside a busy road, generating considerable traffic noise that disrupts the peace. The advertised direct beach access can be difficult to find or missing entirely, though a beautiful beach is nearby. Sanitary facilities have included individual toilet cabins shared between two pitches, which some may find awkward, though private sanitary options are sometimes praised as a rare luxury. Staff friendliness has been exceptional in some years, with welcoming hosts who go out of their way to help, but in other years communication is mostly in Italian with limited English and restricted reception hours. Practical challenges include a complex key system for facilities, coin-operated hot showers that may run out of coins, and rubbish disposal limited to specific morning hours with locked bins. Solar showers at pitches only provide a cold trickle, and Wi-Fi is unreliable with frequent dropouts. Pitches are spacious but lack shade, and solar panels above vehicle spots cause drumming on caravan roofs when it rains. Despite these inconveniences, the cleanliness and location remain strong points for a stay focused on natural and cultural attractions.
